Normally, click/hold left mouse button and move mouse to select, and then release left mouse button when selection is done.
But if during selection(i.e. before release left mouse button), user pressed "Alt+Tab" or "Win+Tab", the "Rubber band selection" will be unstoppable and can select opposite view panel.
Unstoppable "Rubber band selection"

Not confirmed - rubberband selection stops here as soon as I Alt+Tab to another program. Maybe I'm doing something different? Where do you Alt+Tab to?

Hold left mouse button and move mouse to select, and then press "Alt+Tab" to another program, and then release left mouse button.
It looks like the left mouse button is still pressed, and hard to released by click left mouse button again. Unless quit the TC.
In Windows explorer, rubberband selection will stop when press"Alt+Tab ".

Test with tc900x32_b1.exe
Silly done by me, but:
- press LMB and start rubberband selection
- Alt-Tab away (still pressing LMB)
- move mouse, so it will be now (in the back) hover over other TC pane
- Alt-Tab back to TC: >>> items in other pane are selected too (here the panel border was not respected)
In other words:
- press LMB and start rubberband selection
- move mouse, so it will now hover over other TC pane (panel border is respected)
- Alt-Tab away (still pressing LMB)
- Alt-Tab back to TC: >>> items in other pane are selected too
And "rubberband selection" is still active, even LMB was released long ago after Alt-Tabbing.
