rubberband selection in thumbnail mode causes flickering

Steps to reproduce:

1) use "thumbnail" as view mode
2) start dragging the rubberband selection
3) result: the file currently hovered by the mouse starts to flicker (not much, but noticeable) - moving the mouse around on the hovered icon increases the effect.
