Unzipping rar files in folders raises disk read error

Post by *Sagamal »

Steps...
1) Example RAR from http://www.gaijin.at/en/dlet.php, etoolz.rar
2) Double-click on RAR
3) Select *ALL* files and folders to be extracted
4) Copy all to disk folder
Results...
1) All top-level files / folders extracted as expected
2) All files located in folders result in disk read error dialog
Notes...
1) 100% reproducible
2) Selecting individual folder with files works as expected
2) Using Win10, 64
3) zip files containing folders with files could be extracted without issue

Confirmed with internal Unrar of TC 9.0b1 x64
No problem if also configured external WinRAR is used.

TC x86 fails too.

replacing unrar.dll with other versions doesn't help either.

The problem seems to be that the archive doesn't contain the folders, just files with relative paths. Apparently it wasn't created with RAR...

afaik, only rar can create rar archives.

you can unpack the file etoolz.rar and repack it again (i did with winrar 5.31), TC still fails when unpacking.

I found it, will be fixed in beta 2. It was due to incomplete handling of deduplicated files, a new feature of RAR5.

I can extract all files from the linked archive without problems in beta2 and beta6, 32 and 64 bit. So it seems fixed.
