Auto switch mode does not applies sorting

Post by *jjk »

I set a view mode called "newest first" with sort order=date reversed, tab color=red, background=green light, tab icon = disk icon.
When I applie that mode "newest first" with auto switch mode on some directtory (+ Must match <some dir> no file types), all the properties but one of "newest first" mode are well applied : tab color, background, tab icon are OK. But sort order is never applied automatically.

Same behaviour on 32-bit and on 64-bit.
Below some extracts of wincmd.ini

Code: Select all

[ViewModeSwitch]
Enabled=1
0_rules=+F:\Disque E\SVG ponctuelles\*\
0_mode=3

[ViewModes]
3_name=newest first
3_icon=shell32.dll,7
3_options=-1|3|1||255|15794160|-1

same here:

[ViewModeSwitch]
Enabled=1
0_rules=+C:\Users\xxxxx\Music\*\
0_mode=1
1_rules=+C:\Downloads\*\
1_mode=2
[ViewModes]
0_name=<Vorgabe>
0_icon=
0_options=1|0|0||-1|-1|-1
1_name=Musik
1_icon=
1_options=6|-1|0||-1|-1|-1
2_name=Downloads
2_icon=
2_options=-1|3|1||-1|-1|-1

Sort at download-folder doesn´t work.

This seems to only happen if the "Columns view" is set to "Unchanged"

Yes, it seems. After having changed column view to Full, sort is applied.

Please try with beta 2!

2matixx
Beta 1 konnte leider keine Listen-Reihenfolgen via Ansichtsmodus ändern.

View modes are only applied after changing directories.

Yes, but I just configured c:\dir with auto sorting by date descending.
Now I go to c:\dir. Sorting is OK as expected.
Now I go to c:\dir\subdir. For any reason I sort it by name. Then I click on [..] button (parent directory) or on c:\dir in the breadcumb bar.
Sorting stays by name. Auto sorting by date descending is not applied.

It seems that I have to change of tab to apply auto sorting.

Sorry - I cannot reproduce that - here it works as expected - no matter how I enter c:\dir the sorting is changed to that of the defined View mode.

Could you post a sreenshot of your View mode configuration for c;\dir

Could you post a sreenshot of your View mode configuration for c;\dir
See below:

Code: Select all

[ViewModes]
0_name=<par défaut>
0_icon=
0_options=1|-1|0||-1|-1|-1
...
4_name=newest first
4_icon=
4_options=1|3|1||-1|-1|-1

Code: Select all

[ViewModeSwitch]
Enabled=1
...
5_rules=+E:\bibcal\*\
5_mode=4
Here, dir is E:\bibcal, auto mode is #4 (newest first).
I enter into a subdir of e:\bibcal and I sort it by name. Then I click on parent dir icon [..] on in the breadcumb bar. Sorting by name remains, instead of by date descending.
I get the same behaviour with

Code: Select all

4_options=-1|3|1||-1|-1|-1
i.e. columns view is Full or Unchanged, in TC90b2 x86 or 64bit.

Your rule is to set sorting by date for E:\bibcal and all subdirs.

TC only applies rules when going from one view mode zone to another. If you go from E:\to E:\bibcal you go from zone 0 (default) to zone 5. If you go from E:\bibcal to subdir or back to E:\bibcal, you stay within the same zone. Every manual change to sorting, columns view etc stays active as long as you remain within the same view mode zone.
