[TC9b3x64] - Define colors by file type

Post by *jvh »

1. Goto Configuration -> Option -> Color
2. Press "Define colors by file type..."
3. Add some file type (e.g. *.txt), select color, press OK
4. Now try check/uncheck Checkbox on the left (Define colors by file type...)
- Apply button stays inactive - not possible to activate/deactivate.
- OK button doesn't change mode too.
- If you close dialog with checked Checkbox and restart TC file colors turns inactive (probably not saved to wincmd.ini).

Problem is only in TC9b3 x64.

You dont even have to do step 2 and 3, just do 4.

It is present in TC9b2 too, but not in TC9b1 - and only in 64 bit version, as also mentioned by jvh.

That's correct but steps 2 to 4 have another consequences (especially that setting isn't probably saved to wincmd.ini)...

especially that setting isn't probably saved to wincmd.ini).
That's not the case. Settings made in the "Define colors by file type" dialog are saved the moment you press OK in that dialog - you don't have to press neither OK nor Apply in the Main settings dialog.

But if you just do step 1 and 4 and press OK (you cannot press Apply, because it is not enabled), then the change of whether to use "Define colors by file type" or not is NOT SAVED.

You have to also change something else in the dialog to make changes to ColorFilters= in wincmd.ini stick.

Fixed in TC 9.0b4 x64.

But there is a small graphical glitch in all TC's versions:
- go to Configuration/Color and use Tab key several times to reach checkbox next to "Define color by file type..."
