Empty Network Neighborhood (Win XP and older?)

Post by *MarcinW »

TC 9.0 beta3 32-bit: empty Network Neighborhood is displayed (Alt+F1/F2 -> Network Neighborhood) under Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows 98SE (I tested these three versions). At the same time, TC 8.52a displays Network Neighborhood contents properly, so it's not the operating system or network problem.

[TC9b3] Network neighborhood empty/broken on XP

Post by *Dalai »

Hey there,

in TC9 beta3 the Network neighborhood is completely empty on WinXP and WinXP x64. There's not a single entry in there. Maybe this also applies to other NT 5.x systems, but I didn't check that.

It works in TC9 beta2 on XP and XP x64, and it works in TC9 beta3 on Win7 x64.

Oops, you're right. My bad not to search before posting a bug :oops:.

The mods are free to merge these two threads.

I will check it. In the meantime, try
NetHoodStyle=2
in wincmd.ini.

2Hacker: Thanks!

This bug occurs regardless of the value of NetHoodStyle! I tried all three possible values, 0 through 2.

No changes after adding NetHoodStyle=2 to [Configuration] section.

Confirm the fix. There's one issue remaining with network neighborhood, but I'll open another bug report for this.
