Incorrect icon for packer-plugin-recognized archives

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Incorrect icon for packer-plugin-recognized archives

Post by *Vulpix »

- TC:9.0B4
- W:10x64

I use 7zip as my archiver program. In 8.5x, the icons for all archives associated with 7zip have that little 7z icon - even if the archive can be opened by totalcommander internally (using total7zip wcx plugin).

In 9.0B4, all archives that can be opened by total commander natively show the default "zip archive" icon instead. When I open the same folder view in regular explorer, I can correctly see the 7z icons.

TC is set to show "All associated + EXE/LNK (slow)" and yet it seems to not do this.

I have a similar problem.
In Explorer the 7zip icon is shown for 7zip archives and the WinRAR icon is shown for rar archives.
TC 9.0b4 x64 always shows its own archive icon for all types of archives.
Of course "All associated + EXE/LNK (slow)" is set

???
Makes no sense, TC always uses its internal packer icon/ now the system packer icon when the files are opened inside of TC with ENTER.

Maybe it's that the internal packer plugin now recognizes more formats so it shows this icon for more archives - therefore it would show that 7z icon on more since they wouldn't be ENTER-openable. My bad...

TC 8.5 already supported 7zip unpacking, though...
