TC9: no (more) encryted zip file possible?

Post by *ugt100 »

Hi,

with the new TMC 9.0 B6 I'm not able to encrypt / set a password for a zip file,
although the checkbox is available and the expected steps are fine.
After creating the zip file , I'm not asked for a (before set / while creating the zip file) corresponding password.

Windows 10 - 64 Bit
Complete new Installation of TMC (32+64 bit)

Wcmzip32.dll 131888 KB - Signature set - ‎Mittwoch, ‎25. ‎Mai ‎2016 11:29:22
Wcmzip64.dll 158000 KB - Signature set - ‎Mittwoch, ‎25. ‎Mai ‎2016 11:33:20

tc900x32_64_b6.exe 6,785168 MB
Signature set - ‎Mittwoch, ‎20. ‎Juli ‎2016 22:15:22

any idea
(btw. I love this tool - big deal

greets + thx in advance

TC 9.0b6 works fine for creating ZIP with password.
But you installation is not TC 9.0b6 because all files from the correct one
are dated 20.07.16 which of course includes
Wcmzip32.dll and Wcmzip64.dll
Windows 11 Home, Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.3915)
TC 11.51 x64 / x86

This is the correct file date, but he writes about the signature date ...

Nevertheless password protection of zip files works fine here too.
By chance you missed to set the "Encrypt" option at the pack dialog?

Maybe you have checked the "Remember (until program is closed or minimized)" option in the dialog where you confirm the password - then TC won't ask for the password, if you test the zip file immidiately after creating it.

TC checks the signature of these dlls before using the crypto functions. Maybe signature verification fails on your system (bad root certificates?). Please check the signature yourself manually with Alt+Enter on Wcmzip64.dll and Wcmzip32.dll - Digital signature - Details.

That's the details - what I meant is whether the properties dialog shows "This certificate is valid" or an error.
