[TC9b10x64] "Show '!' on hidden/system" doesn't wo

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

"Show '!' on hidden/system" doesn't work - when I uncheck it to hide '!', then it doesn't disappear, but instead just changes the shape (different icon).

OFF. Why the text of post's subject is truncated?

Hello, Sektor.

You might like to mention which Windows version exactly you are using and with which Windows theme.
Reason for asking:

On Windows 7 SP1, 32-bit + 64-bit, using a Windows 7 Aero theme, switching the exclamation mark overlay on and off in Total Commander 9.0b10 32-bit + 64-bit works correctly for me.

On Ubuntu/Linux Mint, running Total Commander 9.0b10 32-bit+64-bit under Wine, switching on or off the exclamation mark overlay does not have any effect. It is always off.
The same applies for Dimmed Icons. Always off.
But this may be due to Wine.

Regards,
Karl

Sektor,
Why the text of post's subject is truncated?
Because length limit and " => ".

Too bad, the closest system to Win10 which I have access to is a Windows 2012 R2 server.
Just checked it:
  • Enabling/disabling the "Exclamation mark" overlay for hidden/system and clicking the [Apply] button will be reflected in the T.C. 9.0b10 64-bit file-panels immediately.
  • The same is true for enabling/disabling the "Dimmed icons" for hidden/system and clicking the [Apply] button. Will be reflected in the file-panels immediately, too.
Sorry, seems as if I cannot reproduce the reported problem on the systems that are accessible to me.

I guess that you don't have the option "Show default folder/file icons from Explorer" checked. In this case, the "!" option has almost no effect. This will be changed in beta 11.

Yes, the "Show default folder/file icons from Explorer" is unchecked because checking it makes the folder's icons (as well as archive's one) to be different. I have "IconLib=%COMMANDER_EXE%" setting to get back the lean view of folders' and archives' icons.

On XPsp3 all this option works only for folders (with red "!" or dimmed), only red '!' for files.

I think it's horribly and unreasonably short. Can't make a descriptive thread title half the time. It's mostly just good. "I have a bug" topic titles...
