1. Navigate to color config and set bg color 1 to yellow and bg color 2 to orange.
2. Switch to thumbnail view.
3. Background is now completely yellow.
4. Open 'view modes' config and create a new view mode. Set bg color 1 to dark blue and bg color 2 to pink.
5. Activate the view mode.
6. While the background color is used as thumbnail background color it's not used for the window background.
Expected: Background color defined in view mode is used for thumbnail background and file list background. This is the behavior when only the default view mode only is used and all colors are defined on the colors config page solely.

I'm supporting background colors from custom view modes now also in thumbnails view. However, only one color will be used, as it is also for the default colors (tried with alternating, looked horrible).

Fixed in beta 12 where setting a different bg color in a view mode also works in thumbnail mode.
A 'chessboard' would look horrible indeed. You could use the second bg color line by line but I guess the benefit would be very limited as the lines are normally very high in thumbnail view. However, only one color will be used, as it is also for the default colors (tried with alternating, looked horrible).

Yes, I tried a chessboard and every second line colored differently, but it both looked quite horrible. So I will leave it as it is.
