Automatic selection file in cursor when minimized

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Automatic selection file in cursor when minimized

Post by *Demonster »

I like to minimize TC not to close it. When I restore window after 1 and more hours in minimized state, files on which cursor was is selected on both panels.
It's not critical, but this behavior is not I waiting for.

I couldn't reproduce that so far, but I didn't wait several hours either. But I keep TC minimized too, and never had this problem. What selection options do you use, e.g. left or right mouse button selection? Any other special settings?

No special settings - all default. Select by right mouse button. Win10 & TC9b12 64bit.

I just tried leaving my TC9b12 x64 on my Windows 10 (1511) machine minimized for 2 hours (not doing anything else on the machine) - no files selected here on reopening the TC window.

Could you try running TC with completely fresh settings? Just modify the link by which you start TC via right click - properties. Change the command from something like this:
c:\totalcmd\totalcmd64.exe
to
c:\totalcmd\totalcmd64.exe /i=c:\totalcmd\test.ini

With test.ini no files selected after about 2 hours.
I have fresh Win10 + TC9b install. In options I choose:
Layout - show drive buttons, show two drive buttons
Display - show hidden files, show system files, show filename in file list as tooltip if truncated.
That's all differences from default options.

OK, I will try that, thanks. What do you do during these two hours? Is it sufficient to minimize TC, walk away from the PC, return after 2 hours and the bug is there?

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

This PC is working mainly as remote desktop. So when I disconnected, TC may minimized, may not. In both cases when I reconnect files is selected.

So it only happens when you disconnect/reconnect remote desktop? Not when you minimize TC on local PC, or when you keep the remote desktop session open?

Yes. Sorry for this misunderstanding - for me this is usual scenario of work. Simple before I disconnect from remote desktop, I minimize all working apps.
