Multi-Rename Tool hangs when used on USB attched Phone
Windows 10 Pro N
8 gb memory
AMD Phenom 9750
Total Commander X64 9.0B12
When accessing a Samsung Galaxy S7's attached 128GB Micro SD card and invoking the Multi-Rename tool, I get a red X and TC hangs, then crashes.

Update - problem exists on 9.0B13 as well.
However, running TC in administrator mode eliminates the problem.
Perhaps a Windows issue rather than a TC issue?
TC 8.52 doesn't have this issue in either start mode.
Unfortunately, I believe the problem may be content related, as it doesn't occur in all instances.

I only have an S5, but I don't get any hangs. However, renaming files this way does not work. It seems to be a limitation of Android, since renaming single files via context menu doesn't work either.

I don't know how you rename files in Windows Explorer on your phone, it doesn't, work here:
1. F2 does not work
2. There is no "Rename" in the right click menu
3. In the properties there is an edit box for the name, but it is disabled
I tried this on Windows 7 and 10 with my S5 and Android M, both on the external SD card and with internal memory.

In my version of Windows Explorer:
1. F2 does work in bringing up the "rename box"
2. The right Click menu does have the "Rename" entry (and it works).
3. In the properties there is an edit box for the name, and it works.
4. Left clicking once, pausing, and left clicking again brings up an edit box.
???
Now here's the weird thing - sometimes, after renaming the file and hitting enter, Windows Explorer also hangs up and needs to be killed.
From experience, I know well that bugs that are not 100% repeatable are the hardest to (if not impossible) to fix.
However, it does seem to me that as:
1. The problem can be recreated with both Windows Explorer AND Total Commander and,
2. Both programs hang when the problem occurs
That the root cause is is probably a Windows bug but possibly an Android bug which Windows fails to handle properly.
While it's an annoyance it's not a significant problem at any rate
TC is a great product as it has always been. Thanks for all your efforts over the years.

Thanks for your extra tests! It looks like my S5 reports to Windows that renaming isn't supported, while your S7 reports that it is supported (but it is unreliable). I don't think that I can fix this Windows problem, sorry.
