[9.0b13] Problems with tabs rendering on Windows 10

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[9.0b13] Problems with tabs rendering on Windows 10

Post by *Vi$oR »

Windows 10, TC 9.0b13 x86 and x64.

Incorrect rendering of the active tab. One pixel width transparent area near tab's border. See screenshot.

No, it's correct! If you look closely, the tab has a very faint color. The sorting header starts at the same position as that fain border, but with its own, darker color.

Please look to the magnified screenshot:

"Work" tab has problem with background - white pixels in the left an bottom. Also there are problems in the top and right, these areas have colors of the neighbor tabs.

Also I have additional issue - incorrect tabs colors after arranging via drag&drop.

In the last screen both "com" tabs are pointed to the same folder and no manual view mode was applied.

I still think that it is correct this way.

No. :) While the 1px padding inside active tab could be explained as a design choice if you wanted to, drawing 2px of gradients from other tabs over active tab is very clearly wrong. The problem is, what can be done about it.

It would be easily fixable for single-line tabs, as I suggested in viewtopic.php?t=45036. Simply adjusting returned rectangle for few cases would improve the look for all standard Windows themes. But the same easy way is not possible for multi-line tabs.

The problem is that these adjustments may be different from theme to theme, and from Windows to Windows version...
