TC's dialog blocks login dialog to network share

Post by *Sob »

When I access network share without saved password, I get standard Windows dialog to enter username and password. That's like this with all TC versions. But something changed in beta 13. I'm accessing remote share over VPN, so it's a little slow. I type "cd \\serveraddress" in TC's command line and press Enter.

Previous versions first showed the "Reading directories: 0 (Esc to abort)" dialog and a second after that, the login dialog appeared (total time since I pressed Enter was about six seconds). It was possible to click one or the other to switch focus between them (not that it was useful for anything and I didn't do it, except when I tested it now).

Beta 13 is consistently much faster, which is of course great. Login dialog appears in about two seconds, instead of previous six. But the problem is, "Reading directories: ..." dialog appears too, few seconds later. But this time it gets focus and makes login dialog inaccessible, it's not possible to switch to it.

That's odd, the wait dialog shouldn't be shown when the password dialog is up. I will check it.

It still happens with beta 15:

Top beta 12 is slower to show login dialog, but otherwise ok. Bottom beta 15 is faster, but login dialog gets blocked. Tested with clean ini. Video is from Windows 7, but I also tried with Windows 8.1 with same result. Reproducible every time.
