When switching to Thumbnail view in folders with a large amount of JPEG files, I often see that the thumbnails of a set of 2-20 consecutive files are not shown. Even when I scroll "past", so they're out of sight, and scroll back again, they will not show up. When returning to the parent folder and then entering the folder again, these particular thumbnails might show up just fine, while others present this problem again.
By default, I have TC's thumbnails caching disabled, but while enabled I also saw these problems. The thumbnail size (currently 128x128) appears to be no factor in this problem, nor is whether I use Lister/IrfanView to generate the thumbnails, or disable these and use OLE2 (the latter is a lot faster for me by the way).
Windows 10 x64 1511 and 1607.
Having this issue at least since v9 betas (heard a report of this also happening in v8.52a in W10 x64).
It's difficult to reproduce, but when I found out that I'm not the only one who is confronted with this issue, I decided to report it nevertheless.
Thumbnail View skips thumbnail generation in large folders

Value 2 isn't the default because it could consume a lot of memory - which is bad for slower systems like older notebooks.
