Synchronize tool: Ctrl+F3 tries to compare direcrories

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Synchronize tool: Ctrl+F3 tries to compare direcrories

Post by *browny »

Windows 8.1, TC 9.0 beta 4 64-bit
Pressing Ctrl+F3 on directory line in the list activates file comparison with the following messagebox:

Code: Select all

---------------------------
Compare contents
---------------------------
Left file not found!
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
Possibly file comparison should not be called in this case.

Not confirmed
Ctrl+F3 normally does a sort by name.
The questions are:
- What command did you assigned to this hotkey?
- Is this message box a message from TC?

It's about Ctrl+F3 in the directory sync tool.

Ah i see.

It's a little bit inconsistent to gray out the menu entry while still allowing the hotkey, but offers some additional possibilities like calling external compare tools like winmerge (which will not show an error in this case:-)).
