Update counter only on every 1000 (or so) files processed

When doing some taks with lots of files to process file processed counter is increased by 1. This takes lots of time. It is possible (if not possible then this might be added in next version) to update the counter only every 1000 files processed?

I think GUI labels should be updated per time (e.g. once per second, not too often to slow anything down but still rather actual), not per file count (may be too rare in case of large files).
