Did you enter cd ::{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103} in the command line or from a button? From command line doesn't work for me, from button opens "My documents", as a virtual folder.

Indeed - it does not work in command line, but does work in Dir Hotlist or in Toolbar button.

It works with different users too.

The My Documents folder can have any name. It is not even the matter of the language version of the Windows system. The path to the My Documents folder is stored in registry (ShellFolders), so it would be really convenient to have a command to go to this folder.

Well, create the command yourself. That's why we have the "user menu" internal commands, don't we (well, plus for other reasons too!). Just assign Black Dog's suggested command in your Start Menu and then use the corresponding "user menu" internal command on your menus for example.

Actually this thread is about hypothetical internal command, so why did you executed it via CL? Don't you know, nice guy - internal commands doesn't work via CL? %)[/face]

Exactly, as a virtual folder - that 's not very good, actually, but anyway, better than nothing. And there is one limitation - you can't open "My documents" this way in current panel if some virtual folder already opened there.

Some other examples:

cd ::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D} - My Computer
cd ::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\::{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} - Control Panel
cd ::{208D2C60-3AEA-1069-A2D7-08002B30309D} - My Network Places
cd ::{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} - Recycle bin
cd ::{2227A280-3AEA-1069-A2DE-08002B30309D} - Printers and faxes
cd ::{7007ACC7-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E} - Network Connections
cd ::{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF} - Scheduled tasks

Thanx to Sergey Davydov and Ivan aka Atlanoff from Wincommander mail group.

BTW, Lefteous, what about an answer?[/face]

Commander has some special intimate relations with "cd", executed from menu or button bar. Try to run e.g. "cd %SystemRoot%\system32\*.cpl" from both button bar and CL %).

n> What are the advantages of this over cm_Open...?

Actually, they rather have disadvantages. But anyway, the key word is "examples", nice guy. My business is to give you an information, what you gonna do with it is not my business %).[/face]
