Folder Search via Menu

Problem: I am searching for a folder named "testfolder". This folder is inside another folder named "== TEST FOLDER ==".
While outside of the parent folder, I click on binocular search menu, enter testfolder, click advanced, tick Attributes and select only Directory.

It does NOT find "testfolder".. it appears that search does not go inside of the directory because of the equal signs "== TEST FOLDER =="?

What happens with a search for "testfolder" inside of "TEST FOLDER" for you?


I didn't encountered any problem with equal sign:
[0 files and 3 directories found]
c:\temp\== TEST FOLDER ==\testfolder\
c:\temp\=TEST FOLDER=\testfolder\
c:\temp\TEST FOLDER\testfolder\

To answer your question, it DOES find the search term while inside the dir with equal signs.

I just did another test, using your scenario with a grand parent dir:

c:\temp\GRAND PARENT\== PARENT ==\child\
c:\temp\== PARENT ==\child\
c:\temp\PARENT\child\


While inside of \temp\ it found \child\ only once.. c:\temp\PARENT\child\


Also note, I'm not using any plugins.

I have also tested, with the following results for: D:\Daten\ZZ\== TEST FOLDER ==\testfolder\

Nothing is found here in this cases:

- Field "Search for": testfolder / Field "Search in":  Blank                      / "Everything" is ticked or unticked
- Field "Search for": testfolder / Field "Search in":  Wrong drive/path is listed / "Everything" is ticked or unticked

In every other case, i.e.

Code: Select all

- Field "Search for": testfolder / Field "Search in": Filled with correct drive   / "Everything" unticked(!)
- Field "Search for": testfolder / Field "Search in": [Parts from the] correct path are available / "Everything" unticked(!)

- Field "Search for": ev:testfolder / Field "Search in": Blank              	   / "Everything" is ticked (result: immediately!)
- Field "Search for": testfolder / Field "Search in": D:\	              	     / "Everything" is ticked (result: immediately!)
- Field "Search for": ed:folder:"testfolder" / Field "Search in": D:\ 		      / "Everything" is ticked (result: immediately!)
- Field "Search for": ed:testfolder / Field "Search in": D:\ 			            / "Everything" is ticked (result: immediately!)

the folder "testfolder" is found ...: [D:\Daten\ZZ\== TEST FOLDER ==\testfolder]

I have no problems searhing for G:\test\== TEST FOLDER ==\testfolder

This is a longshot, but maybe something in your ignore list prevents you from finding the folder - try and disable your ignore list (cm_SwitchIgnoreList)
