TC 9.0a crashes when thumbnail view turned on

TC 9.0a x64
Have a folder full of image files I am working on, when I press thumbnail view button then TC shows some thumbs then crashes. I managed to narrow down the offending file, it is an xcf (Gimp file)

which loads okay into gimp. The file will also crash TC when viewed with lister.

UPDATE :The xcf is a Greyscale mode image, when the the image mode is changed to RGB then the problem does not happen.

Confirmed even for actual TC 9.10RC1 x64
using Lister Plugin Imagin.

Could you try without Imagine plugin? It is known to cause crashes for some files.

Yes, then no crash but there is no other plugin to display xcf files
and so its displayed as text of course.
Some more info using Imagine, it displays the file fine
and then TC crashes in the background.
