Can't connect to SMB share

I have been trying to set up a connection from my Android phone to the shared "Users" folder on my laptop. I have entered my hotmail address and password as the credentials, just as I do to log into my Windows devices directly (when I'm not using a PIN to log in). However when I tap on the share, Total Commander keeps asking me for my password over and over again. Then if I hit the back arrow a couple of times I get the message "Login failure: unknown user name or bad password." Where am I going wrong?

Your server may not support the older SMB1 protocol. Please try the beta of my plugin, it also supports SMB2:
