prerequisite: configuration/display/"show parent dir [..] also in root of drive" is on.
If I start tcmd and the directory in the active panel no longer exists it shows <Read error !> in the file list.
If at that point I want to go to the grandparent directory (because the parent directory neither exists) I can use backspace and the two dots in the drive bar but the third option, pressing on the two dots [..] in the root of the drive, doesn't seem to work.

I can confirm that you can't go to the non-existent parent with the [..] entry. I will fix it. It doesn't depend on the "show parent dir..." option, though.

This should be fixed in RC2, please test it!
1. Set IgnoreDirErrors=1 in wincmd.ini
2. Create subdirs a\b\c
3. Go into directory c
4. Start second copy of TC
5. Delete directory a (with b and c)
6. Switch back to first copy of TC
7. It shows <Read error !>
8. Try to go up to b and then to a with ENTER on [..]
