Christian,
Shame. Any chance to use some other highlighter / extension / mod which would support AHK?

I found two, but both have their flaws.

Re: New forum active now!
I have changed the PHP version for forum and wiki from 5.6 to 7.1 now, since both the updated forum software and the mediawiki software support it. I cannot use 7.2 because it's not yet supported by the used Wiki version and most phpbb extensions. Still it should make forum access a bit faster.
I also have enabled opcache caching now since xcache is not available for php 7.1. Opcache caching was causing php crashes with 5.6, which resulted in random blank pages (error 503). So far opcache seems to work fine with php 7.1.
Please let me know if you encounter any problems in the forum or wiki!

Re: New forum active now!
Since many people have problems with e-mail notifications from this forum (due to Spam filters), I have looked around for a better solution. I found an addon for "web push notifications", which allows to notify about new posts directly in the browser.
You can test it in the test forum here:
https://www.ghisler.ch/phpBB3
So far it works with the following browsers:
Windows:
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Edge
- Opera
Android:
- Chrome
- Samsung Browser
It does NOT work with
- Internet Explorer (Windows), which doesn't support push notifications.
I made two changes to the extension:
1. Enable this only when the user checks it in settings
2. Show a confirmation dialog to get the user's explicit consent (GDPR requirement) that we can send him notifications
What do you think? Should I add it to the board? Or is it a bad idea?

Re: New forum active now!
I like the idea as push notifications have become a kind of "standard" by now. I, for one, will stick to e-mail notifications for a while. I don't like these nasty browser pop-ups and I prefer to disallow them whenever I can. But I can see the advantage for some people.

Re: New forum active now!
Thanks for your feedback! Btw, they are not popups - at least in Windows 10, they shortly appear in the lower right above the clock, and then go to the notification area. On Android, they appear like normal app notifications.

Those count as popups to me - little non-dialogs that pop up. But I appreciate Windows 10's approach.

Re: New forum active now! >> Active topics
Bug report?:
The function "Quick Links > Active topics" doesn't show me anything.
I click "Quick Links > Active topics" and see a new page with only "No suitable matches were found."
("Unread" and "Unanswered" worked for me)
Do that work for others and it's just me?
So far I found this topics about:

I would benefit from a button
like the one at the bottom of the sub-forums "Display: All | Last 7 days | 2 weeks | ..." Sort: Direction:

Because once I have read a topic, a few days later I (mostly
) can't find it anymore.

What is the process for testing the forum feature please, Author Ghisler?ghisler(Author) wrote: 2018-10-23, 10:15 UTC Since many people have problems with e-mail notifications from this forum (due to Spam filters), I have looked around for a better solution. NB ^^
I have tried logging in on that page [your link above] with my current credentials but they aren't accepted.
The test page looks the same as the current, but I suspect that it might need a new 'dummy' registration. -- ?

It's a test forum - you need to create a new account there. I'm watching the notification thread and will send replies when someone writes in that thread.

Re: New forum active now!
1. In Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7 32-bit SP1, the Find on page browser feature (Ctrl+F) fails to find words in forum and topic titles.
For example, if to type:
suggestion
in the Ctrl+F dialog while main forum page is opened in IE, browser doesn't count as match and doesn't highlight the word in the link "TC suggestions (English)", but counts and highlights in the below description "Here you can propose new features, make suggestions etc. "
The same happens for names of topic title links in Total Commander subforums.
This issue doesn't happen with Find on page feature of Chromium-based Microsoft Edge on the same OS.
Its seems some properties defined for text in that links makes Internet Explorer misbehave...
2. In "TC10.0x bug reports (English)" subforum, when creating or editing the first post in the topic, it's possible to use a forum feature named "Topic icon" (above "Subject" field) which allows to choose an icon from the shown as an addition to the topic title.
This feature doesn't seem to be available in other subforums. Is there a reason to disallow it there?

Not confirmed on Windows 7 x64 sp1 with Internet Exploer 11.0.9600.19596 - see https://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/IE-TCforum.pngFor example, if to type:

So unless there is a difference between 32bit and 64bit Win7/IE I don't know what is wrong on your system.

Re: New forum active now!
Well, here for this sample text it only finds 1 match of 3 on main forum page.petermad wrote: 2021-03-16, 20:01 UTCNot confirmed on Windows 7 x64 sp1 with Internet Exploer 11.0.9600.19596 - see https://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/IE-TCforum.png

I don't have access to IE 11 on other systems right now, so cannot check this.petermad wrote: 2021-03-16, 20:01 UTCSo unless there is a difference between 32bit and 64bit Win7/IE I don't know what is wrong on your system.
But solved this with the bookmarklet originally developed for mobile Safari. It finds and highlights all matches in IE here, and shows their total number in a message box.
