Problem with standalone Lister and associations

I use Lister.exe for viewing a number of different files, but for some reason it keeps losing it's associations. I have it set using "%1", but it keeps being set back to %1. Strangely enough, I can still double click and view files in ZIP and RAR files. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

¤ I had the problem of double-quotes which disappear for other associations, mainly *.TXT. That caused troubles to open files having spaces in the name / path.
* Under Win 98 SE, it was a problem of writing in <win.ini>. Under Win XP, in some associations made by default (I mean : by Windows) the double-quotes are missing. This has been normally fixed in a previous version. However, I saw missing guillemots again - rarely - Under Win 98 SE.
* Try to write again "%1" in the dialog Files >> Associate with… >>> Edit

• You can remove the double-post by the [X] button. If it's missing, edit the post; there is a tick-box below the edit-field for "Delete this message" …

sorry, I should have said I am using XP pro. No matter how many times I change the association from %1 to "%1", it always returns.

¤ I just made a test under XP-Pro; I installed the stand-alone Lister,
* I chose a file having no association (for this example *.uns).
* With a double-clic on it, I got the Win dialog "Open with…" (or so, I've Win in French).
* I set Lister.exe as the associated program. I set a file-type name
- Then, with a double-click, I have open a stand-alone Lister view of that file, no problem.
- I verified, the double-quotes are alright written : "%1"

¤ Hence, you might test for one of the file types having a problem, let's say *.xyz like below :

* mark the file, then open the association-list from Files >> Associate with…
* choose "none>> OK" .
* Close / restart TC.
* Double-click on the file to get the Win dialog "Open with…" >> Browse…
* Select Lister.exe at its location. Set a file-type name (optional)
* Test by double-click on the file. That might work : in that case, the association is made by Windows. So, a faulty writing of double-quotes might not occur. Verify the double-quotes in the edit-type dialog, then please let's know what happened…

Thanks for the replies Claude. I haven't found out why the quotes get removed, but what I have found is that when they do get removed, files with spaces in the filename cannot be opened. Files with no spaces *can* be opened.
