cold reboot while syncing large amounts of data with external USB drive

I've tried this with two different drives from different manufacturers. After a certain amout of time my PC crashes and reboots. Could anyone help me debug. For all I know, it could be a BIOS / Windows 10 issue or it could be something TC does, also, the USB drive is Verycrypt-encrypted, so there's another factor to consider... Thanks!

Most likely a hardware or driver problem.
