I did not wait, while for me it's not so 'painful' but a bit time consuming, but my PC likes sometimes a fresh Install of Windows (as microsoft progs love it to be installedClo wrote:- Before to launch this tedious and "painful" handling, maybe could you wait for the Ch. Ghisler's opinion ?


The fresh installation of WinXP did the trick.

change the association
If Explorer shows the icons as an image then:
Associate
Look for the 'ico' type
Choose 'edit type'
Choose 'Change Icon'
Icon File: %1
Now Total Commander will show the associated icons.
If Explorer does not show the appropriate icon, you'd better fix that first.
