Suggestion: Enhanced Move/Copy dialog

Post by *CopyCats »

When you move or copy a bunch of files from one pane to the other, a dialog shows up that allows you to change the target path and set a few options.

Since this is one of the functions I use most in everyday work, and I occasionaly change my mind about where I want to copy the files to, I'd greatly appreciate a few basic enhancements:

- An easy target drive/path selection method. In the current dialog you have to type it in manually, or use the tree window, which doesn't allow you to change the target drive. Even a standard explorer type box would greatly increase efficiency.

- In the Copy dialog: a button or switch that will Move the files instead.
- In the Move dialog: a button or switch that will Copy the files instead.

ps: The CD Tree dialog would benefit from a drive selection box, too. :)

Best regards,

Type target drive e.g. 'e:' and then [alt]+[t] for tree - the tree of e: is shown.

I don't think it is neccessary. If I want to copy I press [F5] and if I pressed it by mistake I press [esc] and then [F6]. To activate a 'move instead' you'll have to press at least two keys e.g. [alt] +[m] or anything. It's not quicker.

If you use drag and drop you could press the right mouse button before dropping and the files will be moved instead copied.
