When i install Total Commander no shortcut is created in the start menu.

When i install Total Commander no shortcut is created in the start menu.

On which circumstance exactly do you see that?
On which installer, which version, on which OS and bitness?

Shortcuts are only created when you do a normal install, not an update.

installer: tcmd951x64
Windows 10 x64 pro 1909 (18363.720)
Windows 10 x64 pro 1909 (18363.752) = online updated (2020-03-27)
installation type: clean install, "next-next-finish", no customizations !
but also on Windows 10 x64 enterprise 1803 (17134.590)

I have checked it now: You are right, the 64-bit installer doesn't create start menu entries! The combined and 32-bit installers are OK.

The strange thing is that there are no bugs in the code! The same code works correctly with the 32-bit compiler and in debug mode. It also works correctly when I'm turning off all optimizations in the compiler. I'm using Visual Studio 2005 for compatibility reasons so the installer also works on older Windows versions. Optimizing for size reduced the size of the installer by about 20kBytes, so it's not a big loss.
