TC 9.51 - View Mode - not disabled tab icon selection control
Configuration → Options → View Mode
For the default view mode, in the “Tab color and icon” row the last “>>” button is not disabled.
Therefore, a user is able to select a tab icon for the default view mode, but after doing it he is not able to undo it in any other way but directly editing the wincmd.ini file (because all other controls are disabled).

You can actually remove the icon if you in the dialog "Change icon" delete the content of the field "Icon file" and then press "OK".

Thanks, nice solution, albeit not very intuitive. In spite of it I still think that it's a bug.

For me its logical to delete the icon in the Change icon dialog, thats done in other tools the same way.MarianD wrote: 2020-04-26, 13:36 UTC Thanks, nice solution, albeit not very intuitive. In spite of it I still think that it's a bug.

Instead of deleting the field you can also enter an asterisk (for default) - the same as in the TC's Internal Associations - maybe you find that more intuitive?

Re: TC 9.51 - View Mode - not disabled tab icon selection control
I still think that it is a bug, other controls are disabled, it has some logic to protect an average user from changing the default view mode.
Moreover, I don't think that there is any reason for testing an average user if he is able to cope with unintentional tab icon setting.
(For me, personally, it was not a very pleasant experience.)

I see it more as the <default> setting is configurable, but the settings for Background and Background2 are disabled because that is already set in the "Color" dialog.
If there is any bug / missing feature here, it is that the settings for "Tab color" and "Auto-run commands" are disabled - I see no reason for that.
That's not true - the fields "Columns view", "Sort order" and "Additional sort order" are not disabled either. You can even change the Title of the <default> view mode. I don't think that the <default> mode is meant to be like a "factory setting".other controls are disabled

I fully agree, I also miss the Auto-run command function.petermad wrote: 2020-04-26, 17:28 UTC 2MarianDThat's not true - the fields "Columns view", "Sort order" and "Additional sort order" are not disabled either.
