Es gibt nun 3 Möglichkeiten für eine vollautomatische Installation:
1. Dem unveränderten Installationsprogramm Kommandozeilenparameter in der Form /AHLMGDUK übergeben
A=Autoinstallation,
H=Versteckt laufen,
L=Sprachnummer,
M=Mehrere Sprachen installieren,
G=Gruppe anlegen,
D=Desktop-Symbol anlegen,
U=Update falls Ziel existiert,
K=Installiert wincmd.key aus demselben Verzeichnis wie das Installationsprogramm.
Alle Optionen akzeptieren Parameter 1 oder 0, z.B. G0 oder G1. L akzeptiert Sprachnummer aus install.inf, z.B. L2=Deutsch

Weitere Info zum U Parameter
Verwende nicht den U Parameter, wenn gleichzeitig die Sprache (L) angegeben wird UND TC bereits installiert ist.
Denn der U Parameter verhält sich so, als ob der Installer ohne Parameter gestartet und "Update" gewählt worden wäre:
Es werden nur die neuen Dateien in das vorherige Verzeichnis installiert, OHNE die Einstellung zu ändern.
Also falls der Anwender die Spracheinstellung nach der Installation der vorherigen Version geändert hat, und diese Sprache weiter nutzen möchte.

Ist es möglich, die Automatische Installation für alle Benutzer durch zu führen?
Ein Ausführen des Installers mit /A1H1G1D1 erstellt nur Startmenü-Einträge sowie Desktop-Verknüpfungen für den gerade angemeldeten Anwender.

Setting auto, hidden, mkgroup, mkdesktop to 1 and UserName to *, in INSTALL.INF will create start menu entry and desktop shortcut.

Nein, Sie müssen die Links vom aktuellen Anwender selbst kopieren, oder die Möglichkeiten 2 bzw. 3 von der Wiki-Seite verwenden.
Anmerkung des Verfassers: die Installation "für alle Benutzer" benötigt dann auch erhöhte administrative Rechte beim Start des Installers.

Die maximale Anzahl von Parametern in der [ini]-Sektion der INSTALL.INF oder INSTALL64.INF ist 101.
Parameter bis 101 stehen nach der Installation in der wincmd.ini, der Rest ab Parameter 102 nicht mehr.
Wie kann man hier mehr als 101 Zeilen verwenden?

Das ist nicht möglich, das ist ein fest einprogrammiertes Limit, um den Installer robuster zu machen, zB gegenüber buffer overflows.

You need to pack the archive with compression rate 0.
Why? The installer does not contain ZIP unpacking functions, it reads the files from the uncompressed archive directly in place without unpacking.

The installer uses this location only during the first installation. All further installations go to the last used installation directory.

The destination directory (in install.inf) is ignored, if there already is/was TC installed. In that case, the installer always does an upgrade.
You have to manually delete its install path from registry. Search for these keys:

This is intentional - some people think that they have to remove the old version before installing the new, which is just wrong.
It would be very bad to remove the location for these people when uninstalling.

You can leave out the ProgramFilesDir= line if you don't want to install it under %programfiles%.
However, please note that if TC was installed previously on that computer, it will be installed to that previous directory (to update an existing installation).

The dir in install.inf is ignored if a previous install dir is found under HKEY_CURRENT_USER or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (Software\ghisler key). Did you check both locations?

Hi,
I have problem with deploying Total Commander in specified language.
I created silent install, when I run .exe file on clean system everything is ok, everything is working great.
But, when i put it into SCCM 2012, after system deployment is over, total commander is in english language, despite the settings in install.inf file.

Settings in install.inf file is for current (installing) user only.
The wincmd.ini for different users (installer user included) is taken from there AppData-folder for each user individually,
and there the settings are the default one on first start.
(There are different scenarios how a wincmd.ini can be shared by different user, (see possibilities in Installer) for example every user would use the same ini,
and you can put and use the ini also in the program folder, if that ini contain the setting "UseIniInProgramDir=7" inside and users have write
access to that ini, take care as your chosen InstallFolder "c:\Program Files\" is write protected on default by MicrosoftTM)
You may want to deploy a custom made ini to each users profile (ahead before they start TC) if not any already existent,
or/and to Default users appdata folder, by utilizing an script of an languages of your choice.
That script also can launch first the installer and is called from your SCCM deployment instead of the installer directly.
The "language line" you can find in your working WINCMD.INI.
Or after you've set the wanted language via menu "Configuration > Options... >> Language" other than English.
I took a look in my WINCMD.INI for the language line and I have there:

(if I set other language than default English, as defaults are not stored in the INI)
You can just paste that lines into your wincmd.ini (but be sure there are only one entry in the INI once you're done)
and adjust the name of the file to your need

Der Eintrag in der install.inf
[Destination]
Dir=%ProgramFiles%\Tools\Total Commander
wird ignoriert, wenn es den Eintrag in der Registry vom vorherigen Verzeichnis gibt.
Grund: So wird ein Update durchgeführt, wenn bereits ein Total Commander installiert war.
TC schaut hier nach:
HKCU\Software\Ghisler
HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Ghisler
HKLM\Software\Ghisler
bzw.
HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Ghisler
vom 32-bit-Installer aus.
Damit der Installer die neuen Installpfad Informationen aus der install.inf nimmt,
muss man vorher die alten Informationen vom Computer entfernen, sonst wird als Update in den alten Ordner installiert.
Lösche
HKCU\Software\Ghisler
HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Ghisler

und aus de wincmd.ini unter [Configuration] mit dem Eintrag

Hier der neue Installer. Benutzung wie folgt:
1. Oeffnen der Installationsdatei tcmd*.exe mit Strg+BildAb
2. Entpacken aller Dateien in ein leeres Verzeichnis "install"
3. Install.inf wie folgt ändern: Unter [Destination] eintragen
IgnoreOldLocation=1
4. install32.exe oder install64.exe in sfxhead.sfx umbenennen,
und ins Verzeichnis des laufenden TC kopieren
5. Verzeichnis "install" von oben mit Alt+F5 packen, mit der
Option "erzeuge selbst-entpackendes Archiv". Vorher klicken
auf "konfigurieren", und als Kompressionsrate 0 einstellen

Und ihr habt Recht:
die "INSTALL64.EXE"
aus einem 32-bit TC heraus gestartet,
löst "%ProgramFiles%\totalcmd" aus der "INSTALL64.INF"
korrekt in "C:\Program Files\totalcmd" auf.
Die "INSTALL.EXE"
löst "Dir=%ProgramFiles%\totalcmd" aus der "INSTALL.INF"
in "C:\Program Files (x86)\totalcmd" auf.
Also kann die Install64.exe aus dem 32-bit TC/Prozess "ausbrechen" und als 64-bit Anwendung fungieren.
