How exactly do you open Office files from within TC? Have you tried TC with a fresh wincmd.ini like(which will also launch without plugins)? Do you start TC as administrator (elevated)?
Regards
Dalai
Code: Select all
totalcmd64.exe /i="%TEMP%\fresh.ini"

Hello Dalai, thanks for your reply.
How exactly do you open Office files from within TC?
In both ways, navigating to the file.docx folder and double click, and clicking a link to the file.docx file in the upper bar.
Have you tried TC with a fresh wincmd.ini like
CODE: SELECT ALL
totalcmd64.exe /i="%TEMP%\fresh.ini"
(which will also launch without plugins)?
Running tc64 in this way it doesn't occurs. Outlook starts well.
Do you start TC as administrator (elevated)? Yes
Thanks

Re: ost in use after an office file is launched with tc, can't open outlook
Well, if starting without plugins works, and you normally start TC as administrator, you should find out which one of these solves it.
Just to make it clear again: Only start TC as administrator if absolutely necessary. All programs launched by such an instance run as administrator, too! This also applies to programs launched by double-clicking on the associated file type, i.e. any document/file. In general there's no need to specifically run TC as admin because it requests higher privileges when necessary.

Re: ost in use after an office file is launched with tc, can't open outlook
Thanks for your help Dalai, i'll just try to unistall the plugins one by one in order to discover which of them makes it crash.
Best regards.
Best regards.
Re: ost in use after an office file is launched with tc, can't open outlook
Hello, after unistalling all the plugins one by one, still the problem.
I unistalled tc and restarted the pc, then install again dual version 32+64 with config files in program folder, and for all users, language spanish.
Still the problem...
If I launch any office file with tc, word, excel.... it leaves my ost outlook file open and outlook can't access it when opening the program.
Thanks.

Did you ever try to run TC NOT as administrator - Starting Outlook as administrator (which you do when you launch office files from TC when TC is running as admin) may be the cause of your problems.

Re: ost in use after an office file is launched with tc, can't open outlook
I usually work in administrator mode because I constantly drag files to the top bar to have quick access to the files, in non-administrator mode it is not possible to drag them.
Ideally, it should not fail in administrator mode ....
Thanks for your help anyway.

Tell that to MicrosoftIdeally, it should not fail in administrator mode ...
I have no such problem - if you by "top bar" mean TC's button bar.in non-administrator mode it is not possible to drag them.

Re: ost in use after an office file is launched with tc, can't open outlook
This means your *.bar and *.br2 files are located at a folder which are writeable for administrators only.... in non-administrator mode it is not possible to drag them.
To overcome this, you may edit the permission of these files to add write access at least for your user.

Ok, thank you very much for your help.
I'll add permissions to .bar .br2 files or his folder to overcome this.
Best regards.
