problem mail (TC does not let me send anything to the mail)
Hello, since the last update of Windows the TC does not let me send anything to the mail, before if I could, there would be a mail window and I could do it and send it to the mail that I wanted.
any suggestion
thank you very much

Re: problem mail
Although your description is lacking a lot of details*, I suspect you launch/use TC as administrator. If so, stop doing that and it will work. If you need to do something as TC administrator, TC will provide an option to do so in a lot of cases.
*) Which mail program? How exactly do you send something (what exactly?) to the mail program, Drag'n'Drop, SendTo or some other way?

Re: problem mail (TC does not let me send anything to the mail)
Hello, I hope I can explain myself better:
I have a folder called ****. epub
I want to email this folder to another person
I put the mouse over this folder and I tell him the option to send by mail
I do not open the mail to be able to do it
before updating windows if i let it
In another PC that is also the TC if I open the mail tab so that it can be sent
i use Outlook
Thank you very much for your attention

Hi 2miliopla
>> "I have a folder called ****. epub!"
Folder or File?
>> "and I tell him the option "
TC do not send to mail itself. (has no build-in function)
So you must have an own command there.
On an Button?
Right click that button, use copy, next paste the command here.
Or do you use an plugin / addon?
Which one?
Which Windows Version?
Which Total Commander version? 32 or 64 bit?
Which Outlook version?

I understand that English is not your native language and it is difficult to express in English.
It would perhaps tremendously help if you could provide screenshots about what you are trying to do and the problem you are facing.
Screenshots can help better communicating the attempted workflow, and at which step of the workflow the problem is.
As the saying goes: A picture (or two) is worth a thousand words...

Re: problem mail (TC does not let me send anything to the mail)
I think this is probably the context menu entry "Send to" -> "e-mail recipient" which is missing.
For example, Microsoft® Outlook® 2013 can then be used to send files but not folders.
Maybe newer Outlook versions can also send folders.
Example:
Folder "Testfolder" contains a.txt and b.txt
By right-clicking on the folder "Testfolder" in Total Commander and then
executing the menu items "Send to" and "e-mail recipient", ...
a new message is opened in Microsoft® Outlook® 2013,
Subject: Send by e-mail: a.txt, b.txt
Attached: a.txt (6 KB); b.txt (6 KB)
If this context menu entry is not available, I unfortunately do not know how to restore it
[except by reinstalling Outlook].

Re: problem mail (TC does not let me send anything to the mail)
the problem is that I don't know how to attach screenshots
Folder or File?
it's a file
By right-clicking on the folder "Testfolder" in Total Commander and then
executing the menu items "Send to" and "e-mail recipient", ...
that's what i do but it no longer opens the mail to send to a recipient
TC 9.51 64 bit
Outlook 2016

when marking the recipient of the mail it does nothing, I would have to open the outlook to be able to send it

Re: problem mail (TC does not let me send anything to the mail)
For me it doesn't matter if Outlook 2013 is open or not - the context menu entry works in any case.miliopla wrote: 2020-10-18, 16:29 UTCwhen marking the recipient of the mail it does nothing, I would have to open the outlook to be able to send it
Give this button a try (I have found it somewhere in the forum):
Code: Select all
TOTALCMD#BAR#DATA
outlook
/a %P%N
wciconex.dll,19
Command: outlook /a %P%N|Send only ONE file under cursor with Outlook|https://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=73020
0
-1
1. Click on "SELECT ALL" (to the right of CODE:)
2. CTRL + C = Copy to clipboard (press the CTRL-key and hold it down, then press the letter "C")
3. Make a right click on your buttonbar on an empty space [e.g. after the last button or between the buttons]
4. Click on menu item "Paste"
The following procedure is recommended:
1. position the cursor on the file
2. hold down the Ctrl key
3. click the button
Outlook does not have to be open in this case.
Btw, you have not yet answered this question.

Which Outlook version?
Windows 10 Pro (x64) Version 2004 (OS build 19041.572) | TC 9.51 x64/x86
Microsoft® Outlook® 2013 (15.0.5267.1000) MSO (15.0.5267.1000) 32-Bit
Re: problem mail (TC does not let me send anything to the mail)
It works fine here under both Windows 7 and Windows 10, 2004 (build 19041.572) - My default email client (SeaMonkey) is opened as it should be.
2miliopla
Try and check the setting for your default e-mail client: "Settings" -> "Apps" -> "Default apps" - maybe it is not set anymore.

Re: problem mail (TC does not let me send anything to the mail)
While it's good to know that the button in TC works, we still don't know if the SendTo feature works in Explorer. Would be good if you tried that, too. If it doesn't work there, it's a problem in/with Windows and not in TC.
