There are a huge number of programs which may have overcome functionally our program a bit. However we don't sell pure functions but easy-to-use convenience. Even all of you don't stand at the computer but sit in the comfortable chairs. This comfort and reliability is always worth some money. Ain't we right?

In my case, the issue is the amount itself. To pay for a plugin almost the same amount as Total Commander itself, is just ridiculous.

Thanks for your plugin, but no thanks. I think I can live with the regular Roxio's Direct CD that came FREE with my CD-R/RW drive.
:P

Go ahead and start charging like the other plugins that tried to become shareware and failed miserably and to this day nobody remembers them.

Yes, you are right but we all sometimes choose things less comfortable because of the price of the comfort. Not everyone drives Volvo although most of us belive it's comfortable and safe. :-)

BTW: As I've been wonder what other people think about paid plugins so I started a new poll about it.

Anyway I think it's time to stop to discuss this problem. We both know what each of us think of it. I think you wait for comments on the plugin itself, its functionality, etc. So let's give other users chance to comment it. :-)

That is kind of contradictive! :P

And the term professional programmer is just too "incorrectively" used nowadays.

Who is the professional programmer? The one that knows one or more programming language fluently? The one doing coding for a specific company? The one willing to provide and charge (or not) his/her coding hobby online?

It can be any of the above or none of the above (or even all of the above).

If you got so-called FREE software you didn't notice where, when and how you had PAID for it as all included in the drive price

In my point of view, professional programmer is a programmer who makes programs for selling and this is his only way of earning money.

I understand that majority of members here have jobs that is not connected with programming or webdesign. You already get used that plugins for Total Commander are free and you don't want to go to the point of view of programmers. A lot of them want to earn money by making the job they like most - programming.

Price for program depends on several factors and program's functionality is not the only factor. Competition and demand are more factors.

Look at this:
1. There are no competitors among plugins for TC to burn Cds.
2. There is a great demand for such type of plugins.
3. It is very convenient to use such plugin.
4. There are people who will buy this plugin.

Of course I think that Lite version must be free! And I think that 25$ is too much. 15$ will make much more profit for programmer for this type of software.

Those people who would use FREE lite version will find it very ease to use this plugin but they for sure will need functions that are in PRO version and time will come and they will buy PRO version.

PRO version's fuctionality is not sufficient for the time being. Burning Audio-CDs is obligatory for the plugin to pay for.

Everything is IMHO.

BTW. I am just wondering why programmers of such tools like Nero and other CD burning programs do not write plugins for TC. This will increase the army of their programs.

I'm sorry, but are you Îëåñü Âîëüâî or his manager? Just curious.

Well, of course I paid for my Nero along with my LG combo burner, but you are right, I just literally didn't notice that AT ALL - the price for that piece of hardware was REALLY good and when I have found Nero distributive inside it was like, well, Christmas. So it's a nice way to pay for something, I should say %). And I'll "pay" for any other software the same way GLADLY - for your too, BTW.

Or may be you, quite the contrary, included a burner into that $25 "for free"? %)))[/face]

Grab & Burn exists in free/adware version.

DeepBurner Pro - There is also nice DeepBurner Free edition.

Cheetah CD Burner - you can get free registration key if you have your own website and put a link to their website on it.

Of course we could talk long if adware means free or how much the link is worth but the fact is that you can get the software not paying any money straight from your bank account.

If you fear that the discussion is going to go off topic you should complain at one of the moderators of the forum.

In my opinion the topic of the thread is about freeware/adware and commercial software.

You want to make advertising for your product. Okay. But since it is not your own forum you must accept that members discuss about a feature they don't like. And I think to have to pay (or not) is an important feature of a software.

So pls don't be disappointed of the direction of this thread. Be happy that it's already on the first site of the forum ;)
