Hello everyone!
Before I start asking and complaining, I would wish to introduce mmyself.
My name is Arkadiusz, I am currently 18 years old and I live in Poland. My most huge and developed interests are China, Programming and history is).
I got introduced to the Total Commander file manager in 2009, when my computer knowledge was well... almost nonexistent. At first I have found no real use for this tool. I found in cumbersome and inconvenient to use, but then years passed and when I become more proficient in using computers I have returned to the TCMD. And here is where my problems begin.
* Some buttons and edit fields sare not labelled.
Off top of my head I can name the FTP dialog as the greatest examples. I am in a very good position in this regard because my Screenreading software allows to label controls, and even share these labels with my friends. Yet it would be good and not very hard to do to label these controls. In general, screenreaders recognize labels if they're 10 pixels above or to the left of a textbox or a combobox.
* Panels should be announced.
For now I don't know whether I am on the left or on the right panel. It is not a huge deal, yet when managing panels (ALT+F1, ALT+F2, for instance) I would like to know which panel I am altering. Adding such an option is not hard at all. Just add a proper MSAA or IACCESSIBLE property to the control and it will be done.
That's all for now. I'll see what feedback I receive and then I will continue.

Re: Total Commander and the blind: some questions and suggestions
Hello Arkadiusz.
Until a more skillful person in this forum answers you, you may try to contact one of my former students i Denmark, who is also blind.
His Name is 'Bue Vester Andersen'
I knew him as a music student, but I considered him a very PC competent person also. He has some IT education, although I don't remember which. (We talked mostly about music.)
BUT we also talked about PC programs that was suited for blind people, and Total Commander was one of the programs on the menu.
Unfortunately I have lost contact with this very clever and bright person, but you may eventually try to Google and 'ping' him on Facebook etc.
To me it sounds like he might be able to help you.
Greetings and good luck, from

(No! I'm not the famous American Jazz pianist. Sorry. It's just my alias.

Re: Total Commander and the blind: some questions and suggestions
Thank you very much for this suggestion! I might be able to roll out a plugin myself, but I am not entirely sure whether TCMD plugin engine supports drastic changes to the interface.
