Re: Avoid sound at search end
Yes, sure.
You have to do the setting at Windows sound control:
I just have a German Windows 10, but try to guess the English terms
Type "control" at search field on Windows Start button.
Open the control center by secting the according entry
On the right side select "Display" from "Categories" to "Icons" or "Symbols"
Select "Sound" entry
=> a dialog is displayed
Select tab "Sound"
Drag the scroll bar down until "Total Commander" shows up
Select "Search completed"
Set the Drop-Down entry to "none"
Close dialog with button [OK]

Re: Avoid sound at search end
The "Ding" sound when the dialog appears at the end of the search in lister is unfortunately not part of the TC sound profile, and can't be configured individually for TC. Rather, it is the "Default Beep" (part of the Windows system sounds) and can only be changed/muted system-wide.
Not sure if there is a clever hack, registry setting, or some other obscure method to disable the "Ding" specifically for TC's lister search, though. Personally, i selected a rather muted sound for this "Default Beep", as i frequently use headphones, and those relatively loud "Dings" (not only from TC's lister search) were a real nuisance to me.

Re: Avoid sound at search end
Well, since Vista it's always possible to mute programs individually, so if one can live without any sound from TC ...

since the "Default Beep" belongs to the system sounds, you would need ot adjust the volume of the system sounds, which applies system-wide...
(Adjusting TC's volume setting in the mixer unfortunately has no effect on the "Default Beep" sound triggered by the dialog appearing when a search in Lister does not find any more search results.)
