I'm facing a strange behaviour in some Windows 10 PCs.
Using the context menu's "Send to mail recipient", in some Win10 machines works fine, in other i get the "There is no default client" message. The strange thing is that in Settings, mail recipient exists. In all cases i've seen where the problem appears, Outlook has been set as the default mail client. Setting it again does not help.
Any ideas what might be happening?

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

Re: "Send to mail recipient" results to "There is no default client" message
Seems to be a Windows 10 bug - I get the same message, but not only in Total Commander, but also in the Explorer.
I have tried to change the default mail app via Windows 10 right side bar - All Settings - Apps - Default apps - Mail, e.g. to Firefox.
But this didn't help either.

Doesn't seem like a bug. My situation is different. It happens in 2 PCs i've seen but in others it works fine. All PCs have Win10 and Outlook as mailer and in those 2 PCs it doesn't work from within TC but it does from Explorer. In others it works from both TC and Explorer. Go figure. Something must be causing this but i can't figure out what.

I cannot say about Outlook - I don't have it - but it works OK with my default MAPI client: SeaMonkey (based on Thunderbird) under Windows 10 20H2.
So maybe be it is rather an Outlook bug than a Windows 10 bug

Re: "Send to mail recipient" results to "There is no default client" message
Well, could be. On my PC with Thunderbird works fine too. On a couple of PCs with Outlook also works. It's just 2 specific PCs. Maybe it's a combination of Win version with Office version.petermad wrote: 2021-01-23, 16:12 UTC I cannot say about Outlook - I don't have it - but it works OK with my default MAPI client: SeaMonkey (based on Thunderbird) under Windows 10 20H2.

Anyway, thanks for the input.
