Hello.
In my WinCmd.ini I have the following two lines:
LanguageINI=!WCMD_ENU.LNG
MainMenu=!WCMD_ENG.MNU
I changed the names because I have modified those two files and in the past they were overwritten by TC updates when named as originally baptized.
This time the two lines were wiped from WinCmd.ini... were they supposed to be removed?
There is most likely a better way by redirecting or something, but these are from way back when I knew much less than what little I know now. Any guidance will be much appreciated.
Cheers

Re: WinCmd.ini - Language & MainMenu lines
When you customize why don't you use your own names without such strange naming ?

Re: WinCmd.ini - Language & MainMenu lines
Well, the most accurate and easy to remember name to me is the one closest to the original. All I did was add an exclamation mark which does not make it look like it could be anything else. I am also not a fan of long names. I guess that if I had several versions of the file that I would end up being more descriptive in their names as to the contents. Is there a problem with adding an exclamation mark to the name? Is that the reason why those two lines were removed in this installation but had never been removed before in at least a couple of decades since they were modified and named as such?
Cheers

The right way to name .LNG, .MNU, .INC and . INI files is: WCMD_something_LANGCODE.*
For example: WCMD_mysetup_ENG.LNG, WCMD_mysetup_ENG.MNU, WCMD_mysetup_ENG.INC and WCMD_mysetup_ENG.INI
LANGCODE is a 2 or 3 letter code for the language (for example DEU for German). If you use this convention, you make sure that plugins and other functions in TC will use the right language.

Re: WinCmd.ini - Language & MainMenu lines are removed on last update
Hello Peter.
Advice taken... files renamed accordingly without an exclamation mark.
I hope that will do the trick. Thank you.
I do apologize for I just noticed that I committed a typo in my original post when I typed _ENU instead of _ENG.
However, the files and their names in WinCmd.ini all are _ENG.
Cheers
