"Lister: view methods by file type" dialog can't be closed while other modal TC window is opened

Well, then replace "dialog" with "dialog box" or "message box" (in the end it's the very function MessageBox showing that "dialog").

As mentioned in first post, MRT or Find files could be the dialog windows which user will have to close.

Although the user can also click X, it's sufficient to tell him one way to do it.

Total Commander 10.00 public beta 3 now uses OK/Cancel dialog with improved text message:

Pressing Cancel (as well as [x] button and Esc key) allows not to switch to another dialog for its closing.

The problem is solved now (in the best way which was possible), so topic can be moved to Fixed bugs.
