In order not to get confused, I would only use menu 1, so what other files should I delete besides wcmd_win10amd64_2_eng.inc, wcmd_win10amd64_2_eng.lng, wcmd_win10amd64_2_eng.mnu and wcmd_win10amd64_2_eng.ini?

From wcmd_win10amd64_eng\ folder which files can I delete?

Updated versions of my Extended Menus are now available for TC 9.51:

I am having a first look at your Extended Menu for TC it looks quite a nice customisation. I use a flash drive from which I can launch 32bit TC on Intel based 32/64 bit systems running XP and higher systems for when visiting on "guest" systems.
I understand that newer commands specific to win10 will not run on win7 and similar for win7 vs XP but for the other common commands (TC builtins and %comspec% based commands):
Is the 32 bit win7 MNU file upwardly compatible with later OS versions?
Is the 32 bit win10 MNU file exactly or mostly a superset of the win7 MNU file?

The biggest difference between the different versions of the menu files is in the menu item specific to the operating system (the "Windows XP", "Windows7", "Windows 8.1" and "Windows 10" menu items.

For the rest of the commands it is almost the same for all versions.

Specific for Windows 10 compared to Windows 7 version are:
"Files" -> "Windows' Share..." option
"Folders" -> "Quick Access"
"Folders" -> "Downloads"
"Folders" -> "OneDrive"
"Misc." -> "Enable Case Sensitivity in FOLDER Under Cursor"
"Misc." -> "Disable Case Sensitivity in FOLDER Under Cursor

Specific for Windows 8.1 compared to Windows 7 version are:
"Folders" -> "Downloads"

Specific for Windows XP compared to Windows 7 version are:
Much less items in the "Folders" section (many of the items in the newer OS's are not supported in Windows XP).
Missing in Windows XP:
"Misc." -> "Make Junction in Opposite Panel to FOLDER Under Cursor (Not on Network)"
"Misc." -> "Make Symlink in Opposite Panel to FOLDER Under Cursor"
"Misc." -> "Make Symlink in Opposite Panel to FILE Under Cursor"
"Misc." -> "Make Hardlink in Opposite Panel to FILE Under Cursor (Only on Same Drive)"
due to missing mklink.exe in Windows XP


Spcecific for 64 bit versions versus 32bit versions:
"Commands" -> "Don't Redirect system32 Folder"
"Plugins" -> several more 32bit plugins.

Really many system commands in the wcmd_winXXX_Y_eng.ini files are different between the 32bit and the 64bit versions - this is mostly commands that requires %windir%\sysnative in the path for 32bit version to work.

Except for several items in the "Windows 7" section, there should not be any items that would not work in Windows 8.1 and 10

So you can use the Windows 7 version with later OS's, but I recommend using the correct bitness - must match the bitness of TC.

It is a superset of Win 7 - I don't think there are items in the Win 7 menu, that are not also present in the Win 10 menu.

If you want most cross-platform compatability use the 32bit Win 7 version with TC 32bit.

Thanks for recommendation and detailed answer on the subtleties of jumping from 32 vs 64 bit OS environments regrading menu differences. I have not used 64bit systems often enough to be aware of the issues yet.

Did you know:

• Some spellings of "UFT-8" did you mean UTF-8 ? eg. in wcmd_winxp_2_eng.ini

  the gif file still has old "8dos3" (not 8dot3 ) text under MISC menu even though that MENUITEM in *.mnu text was revised and changed the text to:
  "* = does not support Unicode file names under Windows ..."

Thanks - it was misspelled in two instances in all 18 English *.ini files.

The screenshots have not been updated for a while. "Swap two Filenames" is now supported also for long filenames.

The line "# = if spaces in path/filename, support of 8dos3 names is required" applied to the item "Swap two filenames" and is not replaced by the line "* = does not support Unicode file names under Windows XP" which applies to the first 6 items.

What do you mean with anybody, there is only one person doing this.
Also as long as the beta is not over it doesn't make sense to get updated files.

Yes I am working on it but until the final TC 10.00 is released I will not release new menus, because new features may come up during the beta fase, that I might like to include in the version 10.00 release of the Menus.
