Lister can't play .mp3 files

Here Christian wrote that all the files are playing with the new DirectShow: viewtopic.php?p=395862#p395862

(win xp with sp3, 32bit, tc10 beta 32-bit (of course))

I tried two .mp3 files with 10beta8. One is playing , the other one is not. You can download them here www.kockarna.si/f3.zip (they are named appropriate so you will know). I don't remember if the file that doesn't play was included in my original .zip Christian used to test new F3 media player.

I can play both of your files under Windows XP sp3 32bit.

It will probably not work under Windows XP with the the 0.75 filters from https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases/tag/0.75

You have to use the older 0.70.2 filters which can be downloaded here: https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases/tag/0.70.2

In that case both mp3 wouldn't play.

It looks like LAVfilters aren't registered or aren't installed at all. TC uses system/internal mp3 codecs which want won't play files with large cover picture embedded in ID3 tags. "Suzy Bogguss" has 70 KB jpg cover in ID3 (and should play OK), "Delial" - 150 KB (and probably doesn't play).

It works for me with the LAV filters 0.75.0 on Windows 10, but not with the standard Windows filters.

@ghisler: so this means that this filter should be installed? Can this be avoided (to have internal support for this)?

You don't need to install the LAV filters, just put them in the filter32/filter64 subdirectory, and Lister will load them even if they aren't registered.

I can't include them because they are licensed under GPL, not LGPL.
