aziemer wrote:BTW.: IrDA works (at least with my ME45 and Win98). Just select the virtual COM port associated with your IrDA port.
How do I find out which virtual com-port is associated?

Open IR monitor (probably located in system tray), select options tab and see whats written below "activate IR"... Mostly it is COM4 (and LPT3).

Btw, Windows 2000+XP does not support virtual com ports for infrared. However, there is a third party driver which makes it available. You can find it here:

www.ircomm2k.de

The page is in German, but has an English translation (flag in upper right).

Hmmm...

equipment: Windows XP, Siemens S55

I installed the IrCOMM2k-driver, and everything looks like excpected. In the System-device manager the port is now listed (as COM5).

when I try to connect to the phone, the IRDA-symbol lights up (show activity), but the window is only showing the network and network-plugins. Clicking on "Siemens" again shows an empty list.

the following log:
CONNECT \FlexMem
FLEXMEM: 0 of 0 bytes free
LIST \

I should say I expected an answer like that - I'm sorry but I won't visit Berlin in the very near future %).
