In TC if you push a letter on your keyboard it opens the dos command.

Would it be possible that it doesn't open the dos command but going
to the file in the pane? That's very usefull if you have a lot of files in
a directory.

Configuration >> Operation >> QuickSearch >> Letter only ?

Did you try also : "Letters - with search dialog"

It's the one I always use. And to get the command line even in short mode one has to use[shift]+[right].
