Self extracting archives

Post by *buzzlightyear »

If there's a way to achieve the following - I would be happy to learn about it:

- the regular behaviour for .exe files is that program is executed when [Enter] is pressed
- the different behavior for self extracting archives that I want is that TC lists the contents as is does for regular archives
i.e. don't execute self extracting archives for [Enter] but list them

Is this possible?

The behaviour should be the same no matter wether a direct packer plugin like for RAR or a multiarc one like for 7Z is used.

:) Hello, welcome on board!
- Ctrl+PageDown opens the SFX-EXEs, without launching them…

:mrgreen:  Kind regards,

[mod]buzzlightyear,
Hi, hope you don't mind me moving the topic - it's better suited here, as it isn't plugin-specific.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

@Clo: Thanx. This isn't exactly what I was looking for but very helpful anyway.
@Hacker: No problem.

You can change the behavior as follows: When pressing Enter the file is not executed but selfextracting archives are opened. To do so you have to redefine the shortcut for 'enter'

Configuration->Options->Misc.:

Hotkey: Enter
Command:cm_GoToDIr.

With [shift]+[Enter] you will still be able to execute the programs - but there will a DOS window be opened and not automatically closed.

Maybe this is a workaround for you.
