If IrfanView annoys you, you should not use my plugin. But I do not know any competitors of IrfanView today.

There was no requirement to have portable plugins.AkulaBig wrote: 2021-09-09, 17:59 UTCImagine supports RAW files very poorly.Horst.Epp wrote: 2021-09-09, 17:47 UTC imaging supports animated GIFs for me just fine

RAW files are not related to animated GIF support for my understanding.
For RAW files I have the available Windows add-on installed.
Working on a portable environment will never satisfy all wishes in the area of previewing files.
I would not want to have a system without the Oracle viewers in TC for example.

Hi Horst, perhaps you just mistyped it, the plugin's name is Imagine.

Hello AkulaBig, welcome to the forum.AkulaBig wrote: 2021-09-09, 17:32 UTC Hello. I am the author of the plugin. I will try to answer your questions with the help of an interpreter.

Could you perhaps add support for XnView (Classic), or even better, XnVieMP? Anyways, looking forward to an update on your lister plugin.

Thanks.
ОК.
Probably it is possible, but not in the near future.
Re: TC IrfanView Plugin
My comment was not related to your plugin but when configuring IrfanView or XnView (Classic) as an internal viewer for TC, without any plugin involved.
Yes, it is very likely I won't be using your plugin if it keeps only supporting IrfanView. I'm sorry for that.
But perhaps you can add support for XnView Classic, or even XnViewMP (successor to XnView Classic)? Or make it a separate plugin? I'd be very willing to beta test and provide suggestions if you're interested.

Re: TC IrfanView Plugin
Of course, only a separate plugin. And what advantages do you see in XnView?
Re: TC IrfanView Plugin
I have used XnView Classic for many years, then switched to XnViewMP when it was stable and usable enough. Both XnView/XnViewMP has a built-in file browser, natively support a wide range of image formats, and provide basic image editing. Both image viewers can be further enhanced with plugins, too.
Additionally, XnViewMP has a very nice image batch conversion tool, that allows you to add additional actions to the conversion process, like rotating, resizing, applying enhanced image filters, adjust color, brightness, contrast, etc. And you can configure the batch conversion tool to use multiple CPU cores (from 1 to max. cores) which greatly increases the conversion speed when processing multiple images.
Basically, to me, XnView is the more modern (GUI) and stable graphics image viewer/converter, compared to IrfanView. Both XnView Classic and XnViewMP are available in 32 and 64-bit, available for free at: https://www.xnview.com

Re: TC IrfanView Plugin
I am familiar with XnView, I also used it for a long time. But it is slower than IrfanView. And it does not support some formats, such as animated WebP. So I switched to IrfanView. Of course, I respect your choice and do not want to influence it.

Re: TC IrfanView Plugin
Hi AkulaBig,
Just to let you know that I like your plugin. I have used Imagine plugin for a very long time. Your plugin integrates Irfanview in the same way to open many file types with F3 key. After installing Irfanview plugins and Ghostscript, I am also able to open EPS files and other formats not being supported by Imagine.
All settings configured in the real program "i_view64.exe" are remembered in the plugin. So you get the full feature set of the standalone program inside the plugin like context menu, choosing different tollbar etc. Of course I could use the standalone program for opening image files by just double cklicking them, but I like the TC plugin feature and open all related files within TC by pressing F3 key
After installing optional Irfanview plugins, I have changed wincmd.ini entries to these ones to support additional filetypes:
Cheers,
Matthias
