Thumbnail View BUG in TC10

Dear all,
It seems that "Thumbnail view" in TC10 doesn't work as it used to do.
In TC10 I can't change the size of a folder's icon shown in "Thumbnail view".
It seems that settings only affect the white area around the folder's icon, but not the icon size.

After trying everything that crossed my mind in TC10, I also installed TC9.5 that used to work just fine.
So, at this moment I have TC10.0 and TC9.5 installed in parallel on THE SAME MACHINE using THE SAME SETTING FILES (wincmd.ini, wcx_ftp.ini, sftppplug.ini, jpg-comment.ini, default.bar and default.br2).

When I open a folder with subfolders containing the appropriate "folder.ico" and "desctop.ini", in TC9.5 I see:

which is ok and behaves as I set it.

But when I open the same folder in TC10.0 I see:

which is not ok. Whatever I do, I can't change the folder icon size in TC10.

Could anybody please help me with this?

With TC 10 there is a new option available.
Using the same ini file with TC 9.5 will ignore this setting.

Have a look at TC 10 "Configuration - Options - Operation-Thumbnails"
Is new option enabled "Internal thumbnails from images" ?

Try it with disabled option (may restart TC)

On the other hand it looks like you are using option "Fields by type" at TC 9.5 which may require a lister plugin.
Check on TC 10 if this is still available (entry and plugin path)

I did as suggested - disable the "Interlan thumbnails from images" in TC10 like this:

Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem.

Also, in the "Fields by type" I have the same settings.
In TC9.5 I have:

so I don't believe that this is the isue eider.

Well, I noticed, that the "text" shown at the thumbnail bottom has 2 lines at TC 9.5 but just 1 line at TC 10.
Therefore I guessed this results from the title of the book, retrieved by a lister plugin.

Did you also delete the thumbnail cache files in %$LOCAL_APPDTA%\Ghisler ? You cannot be sure to see a difference for already shown images if they are cached.

If "%$LOCAL_APPDTA%\Ghisler" is the same folder where "ini" files are stored,
I believe that there are no cashed thumbnail files there, as shown

Also, I find another "Ghisler" folder on my local drive C.
That "Ghisler" folder had the content:

I removed all three files and restart my PC, but this didn't solve the problem
After that, I restore that "Ghisler" folder to its previous state.

No the folder you show there is %APPDATA%\Ghisler AKA cd %$APPDATA%\Ghisler

Well, it was worth a try - and a good idea to do, when you have made changes to the thumbnail setup.

Are you aware you can increase and decrease thumbnail size in TC 10.00 by holding down the Ctrl-button and turn the scroll wheel on you mouse? While you are doing that a little help popup in the top of the file panel will show the current magnification. Check out that you have 100% magnification. I don't think it is your problem though, because when using that feature the frame around the thumbnails are increased/decreased in size as well, while your thumbnails have a permanently big frame.

The "Internal thumbnails from images" option is usually also faster.

Also a couple of question - is it all image types that are not sized correctly in your TC 10? Do you have any WLX plugins for images and/or thumbnails installed in your TC's?

Yes, I know about that feature. Thanks! I am at (default) 100% (zoom).

No. For example, in the left TC10 windows are some jpg pictures (of our cat) that size correctly, and in the right TC10 windows are those thumbnails that don't size correctly, as shown:

I notice this problem only with folders having "folder.ico" and appropriate "desktop.ini".

Two plugins that I am using are "wdx_exif" and "sftpplug".
Maybe the first one is the type of plugin that you suspect is causing the problem?

The size of folder icons is controlled by the wincmd.ini parameter ThumbIconSize

The default value for ThumbIconSize is 48, you can try to increase that to 256, but most other folder icons might look bad - like your updir arrow in your screeenshot https://imgur.com/a/CezE8Bc

After testing with ThumbIconSize=256 I can confirm that it works with your icon in TC 9.51 <https://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/largefoldericon_tc951.png> but NOT in TC 10.00 <https://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/largefoldericon_tc1000.png>


Note to Ghisler:
In TC 10b1-3, 256x256 pixel folder thumbnails are not shown correctly - width is correct, but height is only a few (12) pixels.
In TC 10b4-6, 256x256 pixel folder thumbnails are shown correctly (as in TC 9.51).
In TC 10b7-final, 256x256 pixel folder thumbnails are shown as 48 pixel thumbnails, smaller values for ThumbIconSize is honored but not values bigger than 48.

Maybe the change after TC 10b6 is due to this:

22.04.21 Fixed: Thumbnails view: When zooming out, load larger images if there is space, up to 48x48 pixels (32/64)
