Alt + F5 does not Pack
Hello there,
I have a ThinkPad laptop on which the only command that does not work via keyboard shortcut is the Pack... (Alt + F5). To issue the command I have to click it manually from the File menu. All others like copy, move, Unpack work correctly.
Is there a way to find out why is it the issue and maybe whether some other program is overlapping this key bind?
I would appreciate all help!

Re: Alt + F5 does not Pack
Interesting thing is: If I connect to that PC via remote desktop from another one, the shortcut works.
Re: Alt + F5 does not Pack
You should verify that the key is not registered to another application.. (usually graphic card app, charging utility, lenovo toolbar...)
// on remote desktop : some registered application like graphic card apps does not run !
Somme application can helps you
powershell script : https://www.winhelponline.com/blog/list-all-hotkeys-used-shortcuts-script/

bremenpl,
Alt-F5 is usually registered by Nvidia software.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
Re: Alt + F5 does not Pack
Thanks for the answers guys,
I do have Invidia software, but the NVIDIA desktop manager is not activated. Also nothing happens when I press Alt + F5 while in the desktop. The provided software also lists no shortcuts on Alt + F5. Furthermore, I have connected an external keyboard to the PC and the shortcut works there...

Re: Alt + F5 does not Pack
Also interesting fact, when checking what codes are present after the keypress, they are the same for the laptop and external keyboard...
Re: Alt + F5 does not Pack
I have provided some more details after the investigation here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile-Workstations/Lenovo-keyboard-unexpected-key-binds-behavior/m-p/5123417?page=1#5550062
I don't get it and its driving me nuts... I bet this issue has something to do with the Alt + H one...

Re: Alt + F5 does not Pack
Can you check your laptop keyboard state and verify that one of the alt key is not a substitute of the function key and correctly interpreted.
You can check if alt is detected using this website : https://keyboardtester.co/keyboard-tester
or using keyboardStateView : https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/keyboard_state_view.html
What you can do also is to assign another hotkey using configuration, misc, hotkey
Use this command cm_PackFiles and chose a detected hotkey ...

Re: Alt + F5 does not Pack
See ....\totalcmd\e\KEYBOARD.TXT
Code: Select all
ALT+F1 Change left drive
ALT+F2 Change right drive
ALT+F7 Find
(or did you mean that with "Unpack works" via ALT+F6)
If not, check for.... (what's the english word?) "small crumbs" beneath of the physical plastic of that key
Re: Alt + F5 does not Pack
Thank you for the answers guys,
Stefan2- all mentioned shortcuts work with the alt key...
nsp- I have checked the key with the nirsoft app in the given lenovo forums link: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile-Workstations/Lenovo-keyboard-unexpected-key-binds-behavior/m-p/5123417?page=1#5550062
Alt is registered normally, however alt + H sometimes trigger F4 key.

Re: Alt + F5 does not Pack
Thanks a mil! I have GeForce Experience, and it was stealing the Alt+Fxx hotkeys (actually not only F5, but also F1, F2 ...). I disabled it, and TC hotkeys started working again.
To disable hotkeys of GeForce Experience:
- Open GeForce Experience
- Go to Settings
- Locate "Game overlay" and disasble it
