Thanks for your remarks and advice. I will see to them, but first I must "tame" my TC main installation and the licence issue, which obstructs a number of features I need to use on a current basis. Cheers,

After upgrading to latest windows 11 insider (22567.100), Ultra TC Editors tools does not start anymore and they gave only " Run-time error 7 - Out of memory" message.
I tried to re-register again mscomctl.ocx (6.0.88, 6.1.97, 6.1.98 versions) but without any luck (same trick with registering manually of mscomctl.ocx with regsvr32 in syswow64 worked in previous windows 11 insiders builds..)
So it seems that this was the story of a great set of tools...

Have you tried reporting it as a bug to Microsoft? I'm on Windows 11 release (not insider) and the Ultra TC Editors still work.
I'm using mscomctl.ocx 6.1.97.82, registered as admin with regsvr32.exe.

and check on your system:

- open CMD and type:
DIR "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\MSCOMCTL.OCX"

- If found, open CMD as Admin and type:
Regsvr32 /u "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\MSCOMCTL.OCX"
Regsvr32 "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\MSCOMCTL.OCX"

(64-bit programs will look into "C:\Windows\System32\" for a "MSCOMCTL.OCX")


- If not found, you can get that file from MS-download:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=10019

This package updates two Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Common Controls: mscomctl.ocx and comctl32.ocx
This package will not install these Common Controls if they do not already exist on the target system.
This package cannot be uninstalled.

Some application, embed the ocx in the application folder you must register as admin using sudo or elevate or admin console !

I have version 6.xxxx with installled aplications 6.01.9782 6.01.9846 ... you should find the redistributable package here. Use TC to extract from the exe the OCX you want using ctrl pgdown.

Office also have in C:\Program files\Microsoft Office\root\vfs\System\MSCOMCTL.OCX version 7.xxx it is a 64bit version if office is 64bit (not working for 32bit application)

Usually to register a common ocx in 64bit Windows 11: I open a console as admin and copy the ocx file to c:\windows\syswow64 folder then use the command:

 Regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\mscomctl.ocx

I have MSCOMCTL.OCX version 6.01.9786 in c:\windows\syswow64.
Works perfect here.

I needed MSCOMCTL.OCX from nsp's link above:

..that downloaded an exe.
His other link lower down downloaded an msi file that wouldn't respond to Ctrl PgDn in TC.

I copied (as an admin) the ocx file to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\
My trouble was running 'TC Changes Viewer'. I tried it again, and it worked immediately without regsvr or anything else (Win10 21H2).
All I had to do was fix the ultra-tiny font in Options, and it is now fine.
