[TC10.50b7] Can't open TC, blank screen not responding
Since some weeks this is what I see when I start Total Commander:

Sadly I don't recall the exact moment when it stopped working, so I don't know which change potentially could have caused it.
Maybe it happens since Windows Update?
Reinstalling TC doesn't help.
How do I investigate this? I can't find any TC logs. There is TC Log Viewer but it can only run from within TC.

Did you delete TC's setting files (manually) before reinstalling?Reinstalling TC doesn't help.
Try starting TC with the command line parameter /i=new.ini

After uninstalling TC with BCuninstaller (which removes remnants more thoroughly than TC's uninstaller) and reinstalling TC once again it finally works.

Actually something is still wrong, TC has become unusable.
When I maximize TC's window a lot of UI is covered in black rectangles:

And when I open "Find Files" I cannot use either: https://i.imgur.com/DB3m4vb.png there are text fields missing! And I cannot click on anything.
Edit. After restarting PC it works normally. But if anyone has a clue why it might happen please let me know.

Looks like a graphic driver problem or problem with your graphic card.
Check if an update of your driver was automatically installed.

It could be a GDI or User object problem on your system.Korutz wrote: 2022-05-28, 23:44 UTCAfter restarting PC it works normally. But if anyone has a clue why it might happen please let me know.
GDI and User objects are a limited resource per session and a desktop program needs a few of them to show dialogs.
- open "Task manager"
- switch to "Details" tab
- context menu of tab header -> "Select columns"
- activate "GDI objects" and "User objects"
- sort by these columns to identify the process which consumes a huge amount of these objects,
Any process which is consuming more than the usually few hundred objects?
- try to terminate the corresponding program and check the dialog problem again.

Moved to will not be changed, doesn't seem to be caused by TC itself
