Hi all. Is it possible to add shortcuts to the drive menu. Except your drives you have your Documents folder there and I would like to add extra like your Downloads, etc.

Add shortcuts to drive menu?

Re: Add shortcuts to drive menu?
No, this is not possible. But that's what the directory hotlist (Ctrl+D) is for. Navigate to the directory you want to add, press Ctrl+D and then add it to the list.

Re: Add shortcuts to drive menu?
Thanks! at least it's a way for shortcuts. Strange though. Every aspect can be changed/modified but not that list? Is it worth putting up a feature request for that?
Re: Add shortcuts to drive menu?
IIRC it has been suggested in the past to extend the drive list. But as the name suggests, it's for drives, not random directories (except My Documents). And as I said, there is the directory hotlist.
Still, if you think you need to make a suggestion, then go ahead. One thing to keep in mind when doing so: the more detailed your suggestion is the more likely it's going to get implemented. Sometimes suggestions tend to leave out important details or drawbacks that come with them, things that have been overlooked.

You can also just drag a directory to an empty space in the horizontal or vertical button bar to add it there, then set a custom icon via right click - Edit. For example, shell32.dll (entered without a path) contains many useful icons.

Re: Add shortcuts to drive menu?
Yes, you can use your system tools like
SUBST D: "%UserProfile%\Downloads"
NET USE X: \\server\share
to establish new drive letters. ( this is not persistent yet, but need some extra steps to be explained )
Additionally you can use this parameter for TCs' wincmd.ini
[DriveHints] User defined drive description for drive selection
Examples:
[DriveHints]
E=ZIP drive
D=Downloads
X=myServerShare
Re: Add shortcuts to drive menu?
In addition to the Directory Hotlist and the Button Bars, it is also possible to ad shortcuts to the Start Menu (cd path). In the Start Menu you can even add Ctrl+Alt+F1 - Ctrl+Alt+F1+F12 and Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F1 - Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F12 shortcuts.
