Tab still works (also cyclically) but S+Tab will only go back until "Search for".
If I hit S+Tab in "Search for", the focus disappears entirely and will only come back if I hit Tab again.
No it does not dissapear - it goes to the "General" tab - you just cannot se that in Dark mode - try in Normal mode.
And here by me In 32bit and 64bit TC 10.51rc2 under Windows 10 and 7 in Normal and Dark mode with a fresh ini file (and not) it does not matter whether "Find text" is ticked or has been ticked, I still cannor cycle backwards with Shift+Tab, I get stuck at the "General" tab.

Everything is right. I noticed this bug a long time ago from some version. And that still me off.
Recursive back navigation doesn't work independently of any options in the dialog. Win7 x64, TC10.51RC1 x32.
Petermad,
In case you want to push things forward - please test your installation both before and after you execute the very first search.
This might be the clue to the issue.
[quick update]
Better: With or without "Search results:" pane shown on screen.

Confirmed. With search results pane, Shift+Tab circles trough. Without, not.
petermad wrote: 2022-08-22, 14:39 UTCI can confirm that when the "Search results:" pane is shown it is possible to cycle past the "General" tab with Shift+Tab.
I also confirm.
People, please check on the old versions (7,8,9), I don't have the opportunity yet.
I thought I remembered that it was reported before, but couldn't find it. But now I searched again and did find it. It has been reported multiple times.
I tested version 7.0, 8.0, several 9.x's and 10.0 and all of them gets stuck at the General tab when doing Shift+tab and there is not yet any search result.
The only difference is that as from version 9.21 all the buttons in the bottom of the search result is cycled through when tabbing - before version 9.21 it was only the button "Go to file" that was included in the tab cycle.

Shift+Tab is stopped when there has been no search yet, because Windows was tabbing to invisible dialog items (in the result part of the dialog).

This happens in 32-bit and 64-bit, and TC doesn't handle the Tab key by itself, so it seems to be some kind of Windows bug.
Before we close this thread with a Windows bug resolution I would like to draw your attention to the following:

No biggie though. We have bigger fish to fry I think.
